Prof. Chris Daniels, Paige Le Cornu and Craig Wilkins at Green Roof launch

Our Green Roof is officially open!

With the cut of Karkalla, we have officially launched the Adelaide Sustainability Centre’s Green Roof Demonstration!

Our green roof consists of native vegetation installed on our shipping container roof based at The Joinery. This project was seeded by Green Adelaide. To celebrate it’s completion, we were joined by Professor Chris Daniels and Brenton Grear, the respective Chair and President of the Green Adelaide Landscape Board and Craig Wilkins, Chief executive of Conservation SA.

Following the launch we delivered a public green roof workshop with Sam Ryan from Folk of All Trades, who shared his learnings about green roof benefits, key requirements, and plant and soil selection.

Green roofs are great at urban cooling, re-using and filtering water, reducing heating/cooling costs, attracting biodiversity, and more!

Visit our Green Roof webpage to read more about our green roof demonstration site or come visit 10am-3pm Monday, Tuesday or Friday.
